Create a proforma invoice

A proforma invoice is a priced quote sent before a sale is confirmed — a buyer uses it to arrange payment or an import licence, not to record a completed transaction. It carries the same line items and tax breakup as a real invoice, plus a validity date, but isn't a demand for payment.

Fill it in the same way you would a tax invoice. The difference is entirely in the label and the validity date; the numbers work the same way underneath.

How is a proforma invoice different from a tax invoice?

A proforma invoice is a priced estimate sent before the sale is final, often for the buyer's approval or financing. It carries a validity date instead of a due date and isn't used as a tax invoice for a completed sale.

Does it include GST or VAT?

Yes — the same tax calculation as the invoice tool runs underneath, so the estimate already reflects what the real invoice will charge.
